Spiritual Aspects of Thai Massage

Join Paul Fowler as he takes you through a short introduction to the spiritual, meditative and energetic aspects of Thai massage. Paul has just returned from another two month trek to Thailand, where he spent the majority of his time studying with his teacher Pichest Boonthumme. Pichest’s unique teaching blends ritual, dharma, and keen awareness of energy. The class will be less focused on technique and more about how the Thai Buddhist culture infuses the work at every level.
For an offering, please bring 3 sticks of incense, a small candle or candles (votive is fine), flowers (or something picked from nature) and fruit (one orange or apple is fine).
Paul has been studying Thai bodywork for the past ten years, making nearly yearly visits to the motherland to hang out with the good people, eat the good food, and learn “slowly, slowly” from his teacher, Ajarn Pichest Boonthumme. He is the co-director of the Chicago School of Thai Massage located in downtown Chicago.
